A Little About Me:

 

Excluding my last two years of high school, I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. Both my parents were music education majors, and though they did not encourage nor discourage me to also major in music education, I am living proof that the apple does not fall far from the tree. I graduated from Grove City College in May 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in music education.

 

 

My high school years were split between two high schools. My ninth and tenth grade years were spent at Girard High School. There I was in the marching and concerts bands (flute and piccolo), the concert and special choir, and the bell choir. I participated in the musicals, as well. When I moved from Girard, PA to Wilmington, DE, none of that changed. I attended Thomas McKean High School and continued to be as involved in the music and theatre programs as possible. I graduated May 2003.

 

 

After high school, I attended Grove City College as a music education major, concentrating on voice. I continued to be in both the marching and concert band each semester, as well as being a member of the chapel choir and the orchestra for some time. I was a member of the flute choir since my freshman year, directing it for my last three years as well. For all four years, I was also a member of the touring choir, a select choir which tours during the week-and-a-half Easter break. Each year I was a member of Grove City College’s MENC (Music Educator’s national Conference) chapter. I also continued to be a part of the theatre department at Grove City College. I participated in many musicals and drama productions as both an actor and a techie.

 

 

Other random facts: I swam on various swim teams from fifth grade through ninth grade and ran track during my tenth grade year. I’m a loyal Pittsburgh sports fan, rooting for the Pirates, the Steelers and the Penguins through thick and thin. I’ve worked as a life guard every summer since my ninth grade year.
